Genu Training Mental Health First Aid Courses

These events are taking place in Geelong from July to October 2018
The MHFA Standard 2 day courses- September 3-4 and October 22-23, 2018

Course participants learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems, how to provide initial assistance, where and how to get professional help, what sort of intervention has been shown
by research to be effective, and how to provide Mental Health First Aid in a crisis situation.

The Refresher course for Accredited MHFA requiring the mandatory 3 year update

An Accredited MHFAider is someone who has either completed a 12 or 14-hour Mental Health First Aid Course or completed the online assessment at the end of the Mental Health First Aid Course - this course is designed to extend your accreditation by a further 3 years.

Dementia Information Sessions Geelong August-September 2018

Dementia Australia provides a range of support, information and counselling to people experiencing memory loss or dementia - as well as support to their families.
In addition, we run regularly family information sessions from our Geelong office at 318 Pakington St Newtown. The next family information sessions are:

    • Effective Communication- Wednesday August 8th: 1pm-3.30pm
    • How Dementia Friendly is Your Home? - Wednesday Sept 5th - 1pm-3.30pm
