TO MY FRIEND DEPRESSION
By Depressed1

Where are you going my friend?
I will await your return.
You never fail to return.
You’ve been my constant companion,
Although you taunt me,
You beat and you hurt me
Mercilessly.

When you are here,
I have no other friends.
You are too controlling.
You clothe and you bind me.
In your infinite black shroud,
I cannot break free.

I’ve not lived since you’ve been here;
I’ve not experienced the sunshine’s rays.
Where am I supposed to go when you depart?
What kind of life will I lead?
Who will I be, I do not know;
You’ve been here for far too long.

But at least you’ve remained constant.
